CryoSave Laboratoy is accredited as a Licensed Tissue Establishment for the collection, analysis, processing, cryopreservation, storage and release of stem cells from umbilical cord blood and tissue. Established in 2000, CryoSave has been active in the Stem Cell industry for over 19 years. Our long-established professionalism and expertise are recognised by the medical community and we have successfully collected and preserved samples from over 30 countries always applying the most advanced technologies and highest industry standards. We strive every day to continue improving our facilities and protocols to ensure the best quality and security in cryopreservation. Our expertise and quality have made it possible that many samples released from our facilities were used to treat different diseases, such as Leukaemia, Blackfan-Diamond Anaemia, Medulloblastoma and Cerebral Palsy.

CryoSave Laboratory Protocols have been established in compliance with the NetCord-FACT international guidelines.

Licenses and certifications

Our Laboratories are appropriately licensed and have achieved accreditations according to the highest standards: AABB,GMP:Pic/S, OFSP and Swissmedic authorization for autologous and allogeneic transplantations and ISO 9001:2008.

CryoSave was involved in the product development of specific equipment working in collaboration with Biosafe, the most recognised brand in Stem Cell processing.

Microbiological tests

Complete microbiological tests are performed on every Umbilical Cord Blood sample. Viral serologic testing is done on each mother’s blood sample (HIV 1 and 2, HBV, HCV, etc...). This list is regularly revised every 6 months and adapted to the European Centre for Disease Control Reports.

Golden standard

Stem cell Separation & Volume Reduction is considered the “Golden Standard” in Umbilical Cord Blood Cryopreservation. This process eliminates the non-therapeutic cells, allowing us to only cryopreserve the mononuclear cells, the only ones needed for cell therapies. If a sample is not volume reduced, it needs to be washed prior to infusion into patients to eliminate the non-therapeutic cells and debris that would remain in the cryopreserved sample. This process causes a valuable amount of Stem Cells to be wasted.

Originality and care

Highest quality processing

To perform the highest quality processing, allowing us to recover the maximum quantity of Stem Cells, CryoSave uses Sepax 2 systems, which are recognised as the most efficient volume reduction systems in the world.

Higher percentage of TNC

Furthermore, our exclusive NX-322 protocol combined with our DeNovo 520-A processing kit allow us to recover a higher percentage of Total Nucleated Cells (TNC) (up to 94%) compared to regular Sepax 2 protocol, AutoXpress Platform (AXP) protocol or manual protocols.

Dual Storage system

Stem Cells are stored independently in two separate storage tanks for additional safety

Board of Parents

CryoSave launched the Board of Parents in 2012. This programme gives parents the opportunity to visit a CryoSave lab and learn more about our family Stem Cell Bank.

Cost-Free Donation Program

We care about families and children. With our Cost-Free Donation Program, we offer free of charge storage to high-risk families under certain conditions.

Our Protocol allows us to recover a higher percentage of TNC.
